indianblooddonors.com has added SMS functionality to search for blood donors as well as to register yourself as donor.

When a patient or immediate relatives needs blood, he has to send an SMS to 5676775 in the format:

Blood <space> STDCode <space> BloodGroup <space> Name For Trivandrum, Blood 0471 B positive Achu. The patient will get a donor’s name with his contacts details via SMS. Simultaneously an SMS will be triggered by the system and an alert will be sent to the donor with details of the patient for co-ordination.

Donors can register by sending an SMS to 5676775 in the format: Donor <space> City STD Code <space> Blood Group <space> Name

This service will be open only between 8.00 am and 7.00 pm.

U can search for the donors on a website name friends4support.com. Ot gives you a comprehensive list of donors across mumbai with their contact details

There's a website 'indianblooddonors.com' where you will find most of the information. There is no private list available ever. It also depends on the blood group so you'll need to contact people personally. But, as far as I know, for dialysis the hospitals do the necessaries and you dont have to bother about the blood aspect.
