Well Manav, Bollywood and hollywood are two different aspect of entertainment that caters different mode of entertainment as per local audience. While, Bollywood movies are filled with cultural values and songs and colors, while Hollywood rely more on drama and other emotions.

But, yes in terms of picturization, production quality, and story experimentation Hollywood is far far better than Indian counterpart, as in India there is not that much lee-way with story tinkering while, as for quality in production the budget here is just a fraction of what is used there for an average movie.

But, with the audience maturing here, and increase in economy we are definitely seeing the improvement you mentioned and in my opinion it is a very very healthy development that was a long time coming.

No Bollywood movies cannot match Hollywood standards.
Hollywood movies are financially, technically, direction-wise have more quality and art than our bollywood masala movies

Bollywood is entirely different from Hollywood. but, they are trying to make bollywood as Hollywood.That's why all these problems are occurring.If the bollywood remains as itself, it wont be of much problematic.

My answer is weired from another answers.... I think Bollywood is best in its place & Hollywood has its own place. They cannot be compared. But for the sake of your question, I think condition of Bollywood is not so weak as mentioned in some of the answers. 1 thing is Hollywood shows many things fake which people like & Indian movies show reality which people dont' like. For example- Anaconda,Jurrasic Park etc.

We also have actors like Amitabh Bacchan, Hrithik, Shaharukh, Aamir Khan etc. Bollywood also serves hit movies like Munnabhai M.B.B.S, Lagey Raho Munnabhai, Lagaan, Tare Zameen Par & so on.... Nowadays technology has also developed. We get to see excellent picturisation in the films. I would like to support the answer of Mr.Alok Gupta.

Some films spoil the name of Bollywood by including scenes which are not worth watching. We need some improvement.

It also depends on the culture. Films like Swades, Jodhaa Akbar, Hum Saath saath hain & many more are made in India only.

So, I conclude that Bollywood is not less than Hollywood.

I dont think so ony the boldness shown by the actress is only thing improved upto hollywood standard, in reality wise and pictography wise bollywood will take another 100 year to reach there standard i think so.

Well Manav! Hollywood movies are better in everything than bollywood movies. And bollywood is far away from Hollywood. There are lots of filed in which bollywood have to improve but the most essential is story and technique. Almost every newly released movie is copied from Hollywood.
And also in technology we are far away from bollywood. There technique is very good. Also there are lots of actors and actresses who are great and there prices are also very high.
But yeah we are improving in all fields, we have technology, story, actors, actresses, big budget etc. we using technologies in movies like KRISH, DRONA these are similar of Hollywood movies and also movies of Super Hero and in these movies lots of special effects are used. Also we write some good stories like ROCK ON, SINGH IS KINNG, JANE TU YA JANE NAA, DDLG, DIL TO PAGAL HAI, VEER-JAARA, LAGAN, TARE JAMIN PAR, etc .

Now talking about the actors and actress, we have lots of good actors like Amitabh Bachchan, Shahrukh Khan, Akshay Kumar, Amir Khan, Hrithik Roshan, Naseerudin Shah etc and also great actresses too like Aishwrya Rai, Katrina Kaif, Madhui dixit, Deepika Padukone.

Well One day we will greater than Hollywood.

Well , Bollywood has better talent than Hollywood and I am not saying because I am an Indian.

I can give examples too which can prove that we are on par with Hollywood.

We have the best actor in the world Amitabh Bacchan.

We have shahrukh Khan and Amir Khan who are great actors .

We have Hrithik who is better than most of the Hollywood actors.

We have actors , directors who were and are famous through out the world.

We had Raj Kapoor , Satyajeet ray ( oscar winning director), Sanjeev Kumar, Naseruddin Shah, Om Puri , Anupam Kher and many more who can do any kind of role in any kind of movie.

Bollywood films cant be compared with Hollywood movies .

We have our own tradition and culture.

Movies like Hum aapke hain kaun , DDLJ, Lagaan , Sholay ,Swades and many more reflect our rich culture.

I feel bad when movies like murder , fareb etc are made ( remakes of Hollywood movies)

I felt proud when our "Munnabhai MBBS” is being remade in Hollywood.

We can also make movies which have a world audience.

Bollywood is also making Sci -fi movies . Dhoom -2 ,Koi mil gaya are some great example. So we are nor far behind in making hi - tech movies.

Bollywood is on par with Hollywood .

We make movies for our audience and that is best thing about our film Industry that is bollywood.
