Old songs were scored by masters who had wide knowledge in both classical and light Music.Melody was the key then. Cacophony is ruling the roost now.Any Tom.Dick and Harry can compose music now. just roam around the web for an hour , download a few third rated music clips and mix them. Give a tag saying,"Music composed by......" .that's all you need to become a Music composer now. In this scenario, how such copied stuff can appeal you?How many can claim that these songs can live for generations together?

Because of the purity in their music and the composition used in their making which is soothing and soft, takes time to fit in, but has a much more lasting effect as compared to modern music.

Because they had a lingering effect. This is something you just don't get in new Hindi music. They have a life period of max a few months is all.

the lyrics is more touchable to heart and emotions and cultured theme as well as any indian love these songs as it mine. the melody is based on raga it impress more to touchable to hearts and moods.

Not all of them, but the greats are the ones that one has remembered down the ages, even if you forget songs of all recent releases. Those songs have lyrics which are poetry, tunes that are pure and melodious, and have been rendered by the greatest voices playback singing has known. Most singers today still try to imitate those greats.

It depends on persons liking.... If u ask the young children, they will prefer new songs, more than the old songs--- Its not like this that nobody like the old songs...
But the only thing is, that some like old- some like new.
Ur fact is correct.... Now also, mohd. Rafi's albums are made. The old songs have their own mazaa(fun). I m a young guy, then too - sometimes I like listening to the old songs.
