SHOLAY has all the features like comedy, action,emotion, tragedy, good songs and has a good combination of very good actors like SANJEEV KUMAR, AMITABH BACCHAN, DHERMENDRA, HEMA MALINI,JAYA BACCHAN, AMJAD KHAN
and now DDLJ also has a good features like good story,songs,actors like SHAHRUKH KHAN, KAJOL, AMRISH PURI.

Both are classic movies of opur bollywood. The two can be classified as the greatest hits ever seperated by more than a decade in their release dates. Though you cannot compare the two, and also it is not fair to compare, yet personally, for me, Sholay is a greater movie as this was an off beat movie withouth the usual Boy Meets Girl story and dance around the fields/ town types. A brilliant starcast and perhaps the most stupendous Multi starrer of all times, sholay will always remain in the hearts of one and all. Take a survey.. How many will remeber the dialogues of DDLJ? I still remeber dialogue after Dialogues of Sholay.

I think there in no comparesion between sholy and dilwale dulhnia le jayenge,as both are superb movies and are different in there cast and story . but even though DDLJ was one of the milestone movie of Bollywood.But none in India can be compared with Sholay,Sholey doesnot need any intro.Its the best work of a good production house-Sippys.
It has some of the best cast Dharmender and Hema malini, Amitabh and Jaya Bachahan, Sanjeev Kumar, Amjad Khan, Asrani, AK Hangal and others.
One cannot forget the mesmerising story line...sets on an actual location.
One cannot forget its dialogues penned by Salim- Javed.
Its music rendered by RD Burman and sung by Kishore da and Lata Mangeshkar allures all.
Be it, Koi Hasina jaab rooth jaati hai
- Mehbooba ...oh mehbooba!

Definitely Sholay, even though DDLJ was one of the milestone movie of Bollywood.
But none in India can be compared with Sholay, this movie is such a classic with so much innovation and perfection that now or ever I think nobody can reach its status.

Rajnish, the movie has to be Sholay. It cannot be touched. It has all things in it which a movie takes to be called a ace movie, excellent star cast, back ground scores, music, songs, dialog's are the best thing in it, there is nothing Sholay doesn't have.

well raj each movie has it s own idenity sholay has created a history in 80's while DIL wale in 90's .....we cant compare them !
