Aryan, I feel the best Crime investigation serial by far is CID which gets aired on Sony TV Entertainment every Friday at 10.00PM.

Shivaji Satam the ACP Pradhuman in the series is the best team leader in any crime squad serials. Back with other actors who play the role of Inspector Daya, Abhijeet and Fredrics, are with must doing the roles perfectly.

It has every must of an jump seat moments with suspense in every episode and keeping the crime under control and having a Vigil team of experts.

Dr. Shalunke and Fredrics are very much the funny part in the show, while Daya and Abhijeet are the ones who do the hard work of chasing the criminals.
A must watch serial after those boring Saas bahu sagas.

ARYAN , I think I have answered one of ur question regarding BYOMKESH BAKSHI. I think most of answerers of this question not watched BYOMKESH BAKSHI on DD . I personaly feels it is most awesome crime investigation soap not only because of itz stories but also due to simplicity. CID or SPECIAL SQUAD does get bored due to overacting of main charactors and no connection with reality at all . CID acting cast overacts and solvs case in impossible way. On the other hand RAJAT KAPOOR played a role of BYOMKESH BAKSHI brilliantly to act DESI SHERLOCK HOLMES . I like to watch this serial when I was 10. BYOMKESH BAKSHI used only EVIDENCE and CLUES to solve cases like HOLMES . Based on novels of SHARADINDU BANDHOPADDHAY charactor of BYOMKESH BAKSHI got tremendous success . MY favorite episode was one in which man kills people in cycle by aiming ring at man's heart. Surely BYOMKESH BAKSHI is BEST DETECTIVE SOAP.

Aryan, looks like that CID is the favorite for most of the viewers. May be because most of the iBibo members either do not remember Byomkesh Bakshi or have never seen it. With all the respect I'd like to differ a bit. I feel that all the stories of CID end the same way and the reason for crime/murder more or less remains the same. The actors are good but the dialogs are pathetic and they tend to overact at times. They show over the head kind of investigation at times and if you notice they never have anything against the criminal at the end of the episode other than the confession after a slap by Daya or Abhijeet.
Byomkesh Bakshi on the other hand was based on the series written by the Bengali writer Sharadindu Bandyopadhyay. The characters and situations are more believable(everything on DD-1 is believable). The character was played by Rajit Kapoor and I know people who still remember Byomkesh Bakshi for it's stories and Kapoor. Oscar winning director Late Mr. Satyajit Ray also made a film based on Byomkesh Bakshi called ChiriyaKhana in 1967.
I don't think many people have seen Special Squad. I myself have seen only a few episodes because I did not like it. The characters were more into their personal relationships rather than investigation.
