Well Kabir, i think hollywood is much better then bollywood..

in hollywood we can see large varities of movie but in bollywood repeatation is there in every film love is there ........
no movie from bollywood get oscar prize but in hollywood so many movies won oscar prize .....
movie Titanic won 11 oscar ...............it is not possible that bollywood made such type of superb movie... also the Lord of the Ring,Rambo series, Rockey series, Spiderman etc movies are very- very excellent movies from hollywood.........

one reason is that bollywood doesn't have so much money as well not having good concepts or story.............
bollywood have good actors like Amir,Amitabh,Sharukh,Hiritk etc that can act like hollywood actors.....

the movie "Matrix " from hollywood was also a good coneptual movie.....

so i think overall hollywood is better than bollywood....

Kabir, its a wrong term used for Bollywood as only few movies are copied from Hollywood and comparing the two is unnatural.

Why - because they are different type of people who make different movies and we are different.
They are pretty bold in their movie making and we are more over pretty concerned about the type of movies we should show to our audience.

Having a love making scene in Hollywood movies is not a difficult thing but in Indian cinema its a far better job well done as we have to show it by non physical aspects.

Comparing the two again I would say Indian cinema is far better in terms of emotional and acting base movies and Hollywood cinemas are better in sci fi movies as they have the technolgy of making modern movie making skills.

Bollywood movies these days are nothing compared to hollywood movies.. as bollywood movies are being copied from hollywood movies.. these days our indian directors have shortage of stories so they copy it from abroad movies.. even main prem ki diwani hoon was copied from chitchor- maker of both the films r suraj barjatya.. no doubt later on he made vivah which was good one.. in short bollywood movies are not good these days,,

I have seen some of it on t.v. and I think the main difference is that Hollywood is more polished and covers a broader range of topics and experiences. Bollywood focuses too much on musical productions and a lot of the movies seem to overlap to me (usually love stories) and they suffer from being a little cheesy at times. I also find it to be strange that every one is so pretty. Especially the guys. Even Hollywood has some ugly people.

You are comparing a lake with the oceans, our bollywood dont have a match with Hollywood in any sense, even acting wise only sharukh khan and amitabh bachhan can be compared rest all are the frog of the well. Bollywood is progressing though but the rate is so slow that it is almost impossible to takeover hollywood.

Hollywood movies are high budgeted movies based on missions or meaningful stories in one to two hours duration
But bollywood movies are full of masalas of dishoom-dishoom, Gana bajana, revenge and in the last police entry having duration of 2 to 3 hours

Well Kabir! Compare to Hollywood, bollywood is zero. Coz in Hollywood everything is better than bollywood. There technique, there budget, there action, there actor’s performance, there story everything. I think only one thing is bigger that is quantity of the movies, bollywood is the biggest movie maker in whole world.
Well Bollywood’s almost all movies are copied from Hollywood. In Bollywood there are seriously lacks of good story writer. In Hollywood they use very good technique, technology, actions. There actors are perfectionist, in this bollywood is also rich. Here also there are greatest actors like Amitabh Bachchan, Shahrukh Khan, Akshay Kumar, Amir Khan, Hrithik Roshan, Aishwarya Rai, Madhuri Dixit, Katrina Kaif, Meena Kumar, Om Puri, Naserudin Shah, Gulshan Grover (highest no of film), Dilip Kumar, Raj Kumar, Raj Kapoor, Jitendra etc.
