Q: What is mean by A grade,B grade, C grade movies?  

Kaustubh, A grade movies are movies which are made under really big banner with all the big names such as a big well known director, a big superstars, a film which comprises of huge sets, shooting on foreign locations. Spending huge money just to make the film a box office hit.

B grade movies are movies in which the money that is involved is tried in every way to be rightfully spent. They don’t really opt for mega stars as they have a very moderate budget to deal with. They do take care of every minor detail in the film. B grade movies always try to create any impact or most of the time they convey some kind of a message to the audience.

Now as far as C grade movies are concerned these kind of movies are made with actors whom many a times we don’t even know of. These movies are made with minimum to minimum kept in mind. These kind of movies target those people who like to watch skin in all their movies, whether it be the main lead or any other character in the movie. Vulgarity is also a main catch of these cheap movies.

Kaustubh, A grade movie are which where every individual can watch the movie and with complete freedom where the subject in the movie is non rational and even non adults.
These types of movies have high profile Bollywood actors and behind the scene director and producer who are also high profile like Amitabh SRK, Aamir, Akshay, Karan Johar, Yash Chopra and Rani Mukherji and Kareena Kapoor etc….

B grade movie are ones which have only small time actors in it who are non commercial actors and who works in low budget movies. Like Actor Rahul Bose and Deepa Mehta who is a film maker, Usually these movie are made on real life stories or even costumes and traditions which are followed by people and government in India.

C grade movie are the dirty movies which are bold movies and has a lot of skin showing in it. People making these movies only can release it in small time theaters where cheap crowds of lower class go to watch them as the subject of these movies are just about like porn movies. Normal middle class people are advised not to watch these movies.

C grade movie
'C' movies are mediocre at best, and most of them are just -bad-. These are mid-to-low-budget films--often with familiar faces, as the same characters tend to play in sequels that are rated 'C' as well (some even 'D'). The first two 'Scary Movie's fall into the C category, as do most recent movies involving a Wayan Brother or Ice Cube. Nicolas Cage has recently acquainted himself with C movies.

In simple knowledge !
A Grade movies - High budget movies, having superstars, Best music directors, producers, having foregion locations.

B Grade movies - Medium budget movies, having local TV stars, so so music directors, local locations.

C Grade movies - Very low budget movies, having unknown actors, very average music, no professional directors, location may be a house or room. These kinds of movies are mostly based on sex and have no story line up.

Depending on the star value, budget and popularity the classification which is un official was created by the media.. But , in my view box office success should not be included as the criteria for classification. All Satyajit roy's movies are box office failures but they are graded as A class movies by the cinema Pundits..Basing in this those movies made with a big star cast and able director and actors with an equally able crew, are A grade movies. B grade and C grade will follow the sane rules .

Well Kaustubh , the answer is simple.

Movies made with bigger start cast with big budget and posh and costly shooting locations are termed as A grade movie.
These movies are released with more prints for doing more business.

B grade movies are made on a low or modest budget and intended for distribution as the less-publicized.
These movies have lesser stars and do moderate business just like their budget.
These movies also contain more sex and nudity.

The C movie is the grade lower than B grade movies.
These movies are made fin very low budget and released in small cities.

These movies are more inclined towards sex , rape and horror
