Film and Television Institute of India is the pioneer in filmaking and it is located in Pune so it is the ideal place to do your course. You can find out if they have any part time courses.Also if you would be interested in going to Mumbai to do your film making course at Whistling Woods International in Mumbai started by Subhash Ghai. But it will be a good idea to do the course full time.

There are various short term course offered from time-to-time by private institutes and individuals but none can be a proper and comprehensive one like that offered by FTII. If time is a problem, you could learn about films by attending the NFAI's Film Appreciation course. Its a short-term course.

there is no part time course held there but p.g. degree course affiellated by govt of india.and the course of film making direction,sound, editing, cinematography.were conducted the written test take by puna institute all over india for only 15approx seats in each course,the exam date is near by this month.
