How to download movies online:
Step 1:
First thing you need to do is download the necessary software. Now there are many different programs to use. I personally have found these to work well; but by all means experiment. Azureus, this will be the main download program. Google Azureus you should find plenty of places to download it. Get it and install it.
Step 2:
Now run Azureus and let it sit in your system tray and chill. Now its time to get a bit more software but you can use Azureus for that. To search for software or movies to download through Azureus we need to find a torrent search site. There are millions out there just Google "torrent search". One good one I have found is torrentscan.com. It lets you search several site all from one page.
Step 3:
When you have found a good torrent search site there are a couple tools that need to be downloaded before I would recommend searching for movies. The first would be VLC player. Its much like windows media player in that it plays video. However its a much more powerful video player as it will play more formats including a .cue file. Many times when downloading movies they are in a .cue file. Basically a file that is ready to be burnt to a CD/DVD. If you'd rather not burn it, VLC will play it. Just type "VLC player" in your torrent search site and a multiple of results should come up. Typically the one closest to the top are the most popular and therefore usually the one you want. Now this is not always true so a fair amount of judgment should be taken. When you have decided on an appropriate link click it. You will then be shown information on that torrent. Somewhere there will be a link to "download torrent" click it. You can think as a torrent file as an address, or perhaps an invite. It tells Azureus where to look for all the people downloading the file, so you can hook up with them. When you download the torrent Azureus should pop up and ask if you want to download the file. If it doesn't simply find where your browser saved the torrent file and double click on it. You'll be able to watch the status of your file download in Azureus. When your done downloading VLC player install it. Then download K-lite mega codecs. Install that as well. Unfortunately this is where it gets complicated in all the different video codecs you need. I have found K-lite works fairly well.
Step 4:
Once you have installed that software you are ready. Go back to your torrent search site. Type in the name of the movie, show or software you want. You'll find that the hardest part is knowing which file to download. Remember it is illegal to download copyrighted material.

How to Download Music Legally:
Step 1:
Decide if you want to pay for the downloading of music. While most legal sites are now pay services. There are some sites that allow you to download the music for free. However these site are bands that most people have never heard of and are just trying to get their music out to the masses. The established and popular artists are exclusively tied to the pay sites.
Step 2:
Beware of sites that pretend to be legal. There are Internet music sites that say they are legal when in reality they may not be. To determine validity just use the rule "if it is too good to be true" it probably isn't legal. If the site lets you download songs for pennies or even fractions of pennies for each song then it most likely is not legal.
Step 3:
Use the trusted sites on the Internet. Music download sites such as iTunes, MP3.com and the formerly illegal Napster. These sites are tried and true.
