Reading the books over and over again is way, way better than watching the movies. If you're not such an avid follower of the series, the movies are entertaining in themselves. Like most bestseller-to-movie adaptation, the latter are almost always disappointing compared with the books. The HP movies are not different. I just see the movies as more of tools to help me visualize and imagine the books much better. But one thing I'm thankful for the movies, they complete the family fun as our 6-y/o with Global Devt Delay who still can't read can share in our Harry Potter enjoyment.
