Reality shows are a bit too much any individuals as it takes a lot out of their health and mind from them.

People need to fake themselves for who they are not on screen that is fine but in reality shows they have to do that every often as they have to be a goody good shoes as they are seen every minitue

Big Boss where the housemates are seem 24/7 has suffered from health and more of a mental problems.

Its does make sense as they cannot sabotage their image themselves as the editor of the show will only telecast the masala being created in the house and nothing but that. This can lead to contestant having spoiled their image and people can get wrong ideas about the stars.

Some among them are themselves while others are showcasing fake colors and not being their selves.

hello ! i dont like this reality shows ...lets take example on MTV " spilts villa" ...this show is all bout 2 guys ...12 gals ....fighting for one guy .....spilts among all...dumping ...what is this !!i dont like...
next take on 9x channel ...bollywood ka ticket ....this show has gained so popularity that celebes inorder to stay in show...started commenting abuse and also manhandling each other before judges itself....
next MTV raodies....what is that strip sms scene....all these shows are developing more of gulity ...passion ...and other odd feelings in them i think

After continous run of sobbing "sas-bahu" soap operas, TV reality shows are the new flavor of the season. It is the new spicy flavor where TV industry has got new lease of life. It has attracted big celebrity towards it as it involves huge amount of money. These reality shows are highly inspired from US based reality show and have earned sucess in our country.
Bollywood stars have turned to reality shows as it gives them sense of security, monetary gain and rejuvenation of their sagging stardom.
You can find the details of every reality show on their websites and you will find their format is inspired from some US reality shows. For example- BIG BOSS is inspired from BIG BROTHER and JHALAK DIKHLA JA is inspired from DANCING WITH THE STARS. Even INDIAN IDOL is desi version of AMERICAN IDOL. We crib on our films being inspirational lifts from Hollywood films but these reality shows are also not based on original format or concept.

Reality shows on TV are just a manufactured one ,they are a new way to beat the law in the name of entertainment.In many shows if not all it seems like the winners are pre decided by the channels and several times controversy are created to make the show popular.
Better you avoid this reality shows.

these days reality shows have engulfed the television market and be it any channel, the TRP goes up with a well advertised reality show. 'Colours' a new channel came with two reality shows, 'khatron ke khhiladi' (the programme bassed on stunts by female modles and actresses) and then Big Boss (with modles actors polititions and common men), and has caputured the market. reality shows like voice of India or the like in the various channels is not only an entertainment for the public but they also provide a huge platform for those talents which would have never got hilighted otherwise. reality shows are much different from the regular tele serials which have the same kind of drama that it is the reason they are becoming more and more popular among the masses. i personally prefer watching programmes like khatron ke khiladi and also like watching big boss.

At present the only one reality shows on TV if u want to watch is BiG BOSS on Colors channel at every day at 10 PM. Don't miss it. Other shows are not reality shows, They are just singing, dancing, bundle of jokes competitions. There is no any reality in these TV shows. In real sense BIG BOSS is the reality Show. Watch it from today. You will enjoy the reading the minds of 14 contestants and their new relationships with each other.

Well, the concepts of these reality shows are very good.

It depends on individual how u look at these programs,

I am a big music lover so I watch these programs.

These programs have some positives and negatives too.

They try to give chance to those who don't have any musical back ground and cant afford to show their talent.

We have seen simple guys like Abhash , Toshi , Amit Paul , Rahul vaid have become house hold names after participating in Voice of India, Indian Idol etc.

Negatives are too much hype created in these kind of talent shows.

When a celebrity comes as judge they treat him like God.

Last yearI have seen Salman coming as judge in Chote Ustad and he has been treated like he is the greatest person in this world.

Other hype is the fight between judges.

These are just rubbish stuffs to make the programme more popular.

These are just business strategies to make more money

But there have to have positives and negative of everything and we have to see the positive side of these talent shows.

Reality shows in India date back to the Channel V’s talent hunt for making of a musical band. The band of girls called Viva that emerged from this show enjoyed short-lived popularity but marked the beginning of reality shows in India. Superstar Amitabh Bachchan’s Kaun Banega Crorepati, which was the Indian version of Who wants to be a Millionaire, was a major hit with the audience in India. What followed next was a flood of reality shows, many of them being adaptations of the pre-existing western versions.

Reality shows in India are a welcome break for many of the audience who were tired of cribbing about the Ekta Kapoor's saas-bahu series that were (and some of them still are) pre-dominant on Indian television. Indian Reality TV is however in its nascent stage and mostly includes desi-versions of the reality shows abroad. However these shows are enjoying tremendous popularity and will definitely give way to more innovative concepts on air.

MTV Bakra

Kaun Banega Crorepati

Big Boss

The Great Indian Laughter Challenge

Nach Baliye
An original concept that involved celebrity couples trained by their choreographers battling against each other in an entertaining dance competition. The show has celebrity judges like Saroj Khan, Malaika Arora Khan, Farhan Akhtar, Kunal Kohli, David Dhawan, Isha Koppikar and Vaibhavi Merchant. The first season was extremely popular ans so was the second one, however the third season seems to be losing its charm.

Jhalak Dikhlaja
This was the Indian version of the hit show Dancing With the Stars, which was also very popular. The first season had celebs like Mona Singh, Mahesh Manjrekar and Shweta Salve as participants and Farah Khan, Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Shilpa Shetty on the judges panel. The show is currently in its second season with Shiamak Davar, Urmila Matondkar and Jeetendra on the judging panel whereas the participants include celebs like actress Sonali Kulkarni, anchor Mini Mathur and singer Mika.

Reality shows seem to be a huge trend on television, but anything that is popular has to bear the brunt of constant criticism and analysis.
