.coz if u hv formated,then how can there be virus after it.all viruses r gone when formated.take a bootable windows genuine software,again format all the drives by it,install it.then see the result the installation of antivirus update the antivirus & when u will install new software plz scane the cd by latest updated antivirus. For what purpose do you want to format it?If its to re-install XP, option number 1 is to insert and boot from your XP CD, and when it comes to selecting a partition to set it up on and format the partition.Let us know what specifically tou want to do after formatting, and whether or not windows and which version is installed on this disk, and well be able to tell you which way is best

You have to format the drive where linux is installed and after formatting install Window xp/vista which ever you want....You have to format the drive where linux is installed and after formatting drive, press "R" while it loads and it will install. When you are prompted to format, leave the Vista partion alone, if you sell it, the next owner can put Vista on if they wish. Good luck
