why do men give more importance to physical relations rather than mental love? They seem to understand it to be the same. Why?  

Its a universal truth aaj kal hawa kharab chal rahi hai because we thought that in the physical relation have much much entertainment

Our genetical imprints which is result of our animal past and the dogma of survival.Perhaps it is is a power game ,not sex issue.

woman take every thing with their heart. every thing they do they involve themselves in it emotionally. whereas men r more practical towards life. men think frm their brain first then heart whereas women hear wht heart says then think on it(tat to very less times).
women show their lve by giving gifts, ..........., but men being practical show their love by having sex. its not always that they do this.

Although several men give importance to physical relations rather than mental or pletonic love, there are plenty of the same species who carry their love in the other way. It is a kind of mental set-up and can be the cause of original ‘sin’ that most of us imbibe in our nature from time immemorial.

Mental love is a pleonasm. Men love, full stop. Most of us love only once. This involves one part of our brain which can hardly be reprocessed. I do agree men do give a high importance to physical relations but I believe these are two distinct concepts that cannot be compared. Different parts of brain involved in the 2 processes. We definitely do not mix up both. That's why men are capable of cheating on their wife so easily. U get my point?

All the men are not like the way you are thinking. But majority are of this type. They considered that if any lady response them well physically that means she is the best lover in their life as for such men sex is much more important, but on the contrary ladies always search in men the faith and confidence and love them from their heart. There is exception to this also on certain ladies who wants to have just enjoyment from the men. But as you say majority of women once they love any men they love them from their heart and mind and if they have the image of that particular men within her then it is very difficult to remove. But to tell such thing to such men is very difficult.

Men think the way they are. Some men think physical relation is an epitome of love since it is the way men are programmed in their genes (hormonal) ... remember there is a huge chemical difference between men and women. Mental love, for men, came after or around the Renaissance when they started to like women than lust for them. But the trait remains ... and if u ask me, even today the feeling is the same. However, I will also encourage you to start analyzing male psychology more than the mere thought of men being prone to lust. That's a typical thought ... most certainly a sample ... but not the entire truth. The clash between men and women in this aspect is more because women always think men like lust more than love and men feel frustrated at women misunderstanding them most of the time!

Because men are differently wired in the head than women. For men, physical gratification is more important than committment and settling down with one partner, because, men's priority is biologically geared as sexual satisfaction.
