No I don't think it is correct because at age of 16 both boy and girl are not matured enough.

We in India are also inching towards it! There are reasons to believe that they will reduce the cases of child-marriages, or teenage love and subsequent elopement. But seriously thinking, why do we not think that marriage requires a certain level of maturity? By encouraging sixteen year olds, we are just making them prone to taking serious decisions quite early in life. However, since Indian societies are changing towards being like that of West, hopefully the teenagers will see it as a positive change as well.

In european countries ppl attain puberty both mentally and physically at an age earlier to what indians are used to.So it is fine as long as u are matured enough to handle the institution called marriage.

In a society like England, getting married at the age of 16 suits. If that is adopted here in India, it wouldn't go well with our culture, conservative backgrounds, and also the mindset of our people. But I feel 16 is too young an age for a couple to get married and decide how to live their lives...as they dont have the maturity and the understanding to manage their responsibilities together.

UK is a quite fast forward country and at 16 people there start to make money from various sources. So they can support each other if they are married. But normal physical maturity and ideal maturity is way beyond at 16 years. In this context it is wrong.

I think its not good to marry a girl so earlly in 16 years as she is not physically mature and not even ready to face the married world...She is really learning adult things at this age and a girl should get married only after 21 as it is her rght age as she gets fully mature and even independent...

it depends upon the country yo live it might be possible that there mostly might be marying still at more later age then in india
