Selfish men cannot be called Casanovas. Because, Casanova was not a selfish man. Casanova is synonym to sex, love and live.
A professional gambler, Casanova was renown as Lady killer. But he was not a selfish one.
So famous a womanizer was he that his name remains synonymous with the art of seduction and he is sometimes called "the world's greatest lover".
His confession in his book is largely devoid of repentance or remorse. He celebrates the senses with his readers, especially regarding music, food, and women. “I have always liked highly seasoned food. … As for women, I have always found that the one I was in love with smelled good, and the more copious her sweat the sweeter I found it.” He mentions over 120 adventures with women and girls, with several veiled references to male lovers as well.
His famous confession in his autobiography: “I am writing My Life to laugh at myself, and I am succeeding.”
After going through his autobiography, nowhere it was found that he ever acted as selfish.
Therefore, Selfish men cannot be called Casanovas.
