It depends upon their love, attachment.determination,confi dence and trust. Since they stay apart, regular communication keeps the contct alive. On rare occasion, if there be a gap of communication, both should not suspect each other. Once both are honest and sincere, chances of continuity of long distance relationships is fair.

well...if you love each other then i guess there should not be any problem in a life long togetherness provided you both are mature enough to understand each other and respect each others feelings.your expectations from each other should be realistic knowing that each of you are different individuals and you both will react to a stitaution in a different manner.complete trust is very important and instead of getting upset or feling sad about anything you both should talk it out openely to resolve the issue otherwise if you keep quiet holding unneccessary grudges agaisnt each other it might lead to separation in future.

there was a similar question i posted....but some1 were to ask me if there chances of it working out well.i mean it mite tht u stay next door to ur gf bt u break up bt i think distances dont matter if u love the person.....n trust the person and...
it so happens thtmost of the time we dont trust as its our mentality----we have our frens breaking up and so we think
on similar grounds that a long distance relationshp wont work out.....so.....

Communication is the number one thing in a long distant relationship....as much u talk to them...it will show u more how much he cares about u ...and second thing is trust....tht doesn't mean tht if he/she is far away anyone can cheat on each other....knowing tht noone will find out.....aur ek aur baat relationship naam ki nahi dil ki honi chahiye ...agar dil mein pyar hai toh long relationship feel so closer......thts wht i think....love each other the most tht ur relationship comes out with best of it.....if a person can't do all this I don't think he/she has any right to love anyone.............

Hey there....long distant relationship works and i'm an example for it.... one thing should be very clear in your mind.... come what may.... you both will accept each other when u guys decide to be together for lifetime.....the difference of opinion will always be there.... but once u understand the person, there'll be no hazards...but make sure to say the truth always.... all the best....

I think that any relationship can work as long as you work hard at keeping it together.

The two most important things for this kind of situation are communication and trust. Talk to each other and see each other as often as you can. But, you also have to remain faithful and TRUST that your partner is doing the same.
If you both want it to work, then it will, but it won't be easy!
