The age of 21 seems a bit too early for marriage. Howver, legally the age is fine to get married, but your intention of getting self sufficient before getting married is absolutely fine and essential to support your wife & family in future.

You need not be dependant on others after your marriage for your survival. Try to convince your parents about your problem and let them wait till you start earning and able to stand on your own feet before they get you married.

Yes 21 years is not a good age . One must complete some professional studies and have some respectble work to take care of the soulmate and children. parents should not insist or want the children to get married at a tender age . It is harmful to the children to get married such a young age without work or education.

A few things that one should have before getting married are - Physically fit, Economically strong enough to start/support family & Mentall preparedness. I think you might be ready physically, but to become economically strong and for mentally preparation, you need more time. I think it will take an year or more when you will find yourself fit for it.
