Established in 1986, Dakshinapan Shopping Complex is the ideal one-stop-shop for all those interested in handicrafts and handlooms. This two-storey structure holds close to 140 shops selling everything from footwear to kantha work, to dokra, madhubani paintings, fabrics and other authentic Bengal crafts. It is an exceptional place and offers a wide collection of sarees, salwars, kurtas and exquisite dupattas at reasonable and unbelievable prices.

A famous joint is Dolly's -The Tea Shop which is an unique Tea Boutique serving a wide variety of tea. A must try.

Dakshinapan is at South Kolkata, near Dhakura Bridge. There are a good number of shops and mostly different Govt Emporiums-selling handloom and handicraft items.
