regarding the area wise kanpur is bigger than lucknow.kanpur is paying more sales tax and other revenues to the government than lucknow.kanpur is a bigger educational hub than lucknow.regarding the corporate prefrences it may be possible that you will find lucknow bigger than kanpur but it has a reason that lucknow is a capital city and every corporate house wants to establish their head office at the capital city of the state.

Lucknow is bigger than Kanpur in area. The total area covered by Lucknow is around 3204 square Kms. and kanpur is around 1040 square kms.
