Visual IP InSight's Broadband Suite is designed to help service providers and enterprise customers measure and monitor the performance of broadband connections and IP VPNs. At the heart of Visual IP InSight's Broadband Suite is the desktop Agent; unobtrusive software which is deployed on the end user's desktop.
This Agent enhances troubleshooting capability for the helpdesk by fully automating the process of collecting specific end user information within broadband environments, as well as providing a capability to test the availability and performance of key network services. This data is presented in Visual IP InSight's Web-based applications, Service Level Manager and Customer Care.
Enhanced End-user Support
Visual IP InSight's Broadband Suite supports all broadband access media types, including DSL, Cable, and Fixed Wireless and provides specific detail about the end user's connection experiences in broadband environments. This includes hardware/software configuration settings as well as their connection experience when accessing the network and network services. Visual IP InSight's Broadband Suite also gives specific details on the end user's connection experience by connection type including DSL, PPPoE (Point-to-Point over Ethernet), PPPoA (Point-to-Point over ATM) and VPN, IPSec VPN and PPTP VPN.
Like the Dial Suite, Visual IP InSight's Broadband Suite allows customer care personnel to access any user's profile and a history of all past connections, for environments where the concept of "connection" makes sense, like PPPoE - successful or unsuccessful. Each history record includes information such as connection time, Remote Access Server (RAS) result code, point-of-presence (POP) accessed, connection attempt details, and operating system details. Since the data is presented through a Web interface, the data can be accessed worldwide at any time, allowing organizations to respond proactively to performance issues.
