Actually there is no problem with blood group of husband and wife.Any group, they can be.But the main problem is with the Rh Factor. That too if the wife happend to be Rh--ve and husband Rh+ve(let it be any group).
To your first part of the question, this is the answer,if both are --(Rh) or both are +ve of any blood group, nothing to worry.Same way if wife is +ve & husband is --ve still there is no problem.(all these are about blood Rh factors only). Now I think this part is clear.
Now the 2nd part of your question. If mother's Rh is --ve and father + ve,and the foetus inside the mother happend to be --ve,there is NO PROBLEM.(since child and mother are in the same Rh factor)But as the child is in the womb,we do not know its blood Rh factor. If it happend to be +ve,the strong Rh-ve enzime of mother go through the umblical cord to the child's blood and mixses with it,producing the antibody in the child's blood. This antibody goes and mixes with the mothers blood which resultantly produces very strong anti body in mother's blood. This anti body destrorys all the red blood cells in the child's blood, causing Jaundice in the still born baby.Such babys on birth are born as Jaundice infected.Within 24 hours anti body injection can be given to the child and the child can be saved. For some days the child should be exposed to sunlight for 30 minuts daily. The child is safe and nothing to worry. But the antibody injection should be given within 24 hrs.
But in the case of 2nd child, the risk will be some more greater, because, the mother's blood is alredy with strong Rh--ve antibody, and it may endanger the life of the foetus. The mother need antibody neutralising injection in advance and also the 2nd child also should be given antibody injection within 24 hrs,as in the case of the 1st child.
