You are only 34 and a long way to go in your life.Drinking and smoking are the two main bad habits which puts a fullstop to our life abruptly.Any way I am very much happy to hear from you that you have put a full stop to your drinking habbit. How long you were under the alcoholic habit and how frequently you were using it, and how far it has damged your internal system,I do not know.Still ,"earlier the better,I think.
You were telling your health were going down, day by day,and your liver function is not good. Is it what doctor said? Then you must take it seriously. Actually, prolonged abuse of alcohol enlarges the liver and makes it fatty, and one in five persons of heavy drinkers, develops Cirrhosis of liver.
Alcoholic Cirrhosis is the most common cause of liver cancer and fatal liver failure. In this condition fats and proteins are poorly tolerated and impairs the liver's capacity to store vitamin A and metaboise some nutrients.
I think doctors might have gone through your blood results and might have adviced you properly. If not yet consulted, don't waste time and have a thorough checkUP of your liver and take medicines accordingly.
Any way, as you are young, and liver is a such a big gland in our body with maximum toleration, you need not to worry much. Every thing will gradually become alright.
Also follow my advice:--(1) Take plenty of foods rich in Vitamin C,such as citrus fruits, and strawberries.
(2) Take plenty of vitamin B12 found in Liver and Fish
(3)Take plenty of Folate, found in liver, green vegetables and fruits.
CUT DOWN:--Saturated fats from fatty meats and full fat dairy products,Sugar,Coffee and tea and heavily spiced foods.
DO NOT TOUCH ALCOHOL HEREAFTER.
