Hi Sasi,
- Communicate with your students in English.
- There will be times when they will reply or talk in Hindi but, DO NOT GET ANGRY cause it might put them off the language.
- If you know there are kids who can pronounce some words correctly then deliberately make mistakes and let them correct you. Eduction is about learning together.
- Let them give you a spelling test for a change and again make sure you do make some mistakes.
- Have them enact short plays preferably written in the class itself and be a part of those plays.
- Make reciting poetry a part of the daiy schedule of the class but not a compulsion.
- Encourage them to write their own poems.
- Talk to the parents and ask them to talk to kids in English at home as well.
- Be patient. Don't rush or push them too hard.

make arrangement for group discussion in ur class. also give any topic on which each n every student has to speak for atleat five minutes. it should be like debate.

Hi sasi,
I m anjali ,I too am an english teacher ,acc.to me the best thing you can do is to let the students interact among themselves in your class in English,let them note down their conversation and guide them where had they commited mistakes

Hi sasi. Hats off to u that u r taking special care about u r students. Tell students to collect different 10 word per day and note down meaning for every word and discus in class room about new words. and give one topic to each and every student and tell them give 5 min. seminar on that topic

I am sure you will agry that Language can not be taught. It can only be practiced. Can you learn urdu through a tutor or books. A big NO . If you start using the language among your friends , gradually you will be comfortable in it. Once you are comfortable than try using books / dictionary and tutorials to find out your errors and take out better words to use when you speak or Write. As per your students are concerned, give them an atmosphere to use the language maximum with you and among themselves. Interact with them maximum on the subject they like and graduall give them Discussion topics of their choice. Make them use the language maximum they can. Being a teacher keep a note on their punctuation . Give them an enviorment to enjoy themselves. Correct them where they are wrong and give them alternate words they could have used. All the BEST.

Hi Sasi ,very nice question if all teacher started asking same question themself then we will have brighter India .Coming back to your question , My answer is - Be yourself and be practical in class. keep the environment Live.
Be Practical - Only in India the relationship gap between Teache r and student is huge. Try to reduce that , i.e Try to have interactive class session , have fun . Increase the comfort level of students in such a way that they wont hesitate to ask what they think as a silly question . Answer to all their question and clarify if with practical example. Have debate often in class with the latest topic happening in the world. Hammer their mind against thoughts such as Bribery , child labor and all other social evils happening currently.
You are in a great profession ,you are building the future of our nation , if the basement is not strong then the building will never stand still . Happy Teaching !!!!!!!!!

divide them into grps n' assign roles of different people in a city like taxi drivers, public, muncipal commitee (to judge n make final decisions) etc. n debate abt a common prob like taxi cars causing pollution n d kids are suffering from respiratory disorders.... each of these grps should be given turns to speak freely and uninterrupted and finally find a solution approoved by the majority...

Treat you students as friends not as hard core teacher there is hugh communication gap between the teacher and students try to spend some times and analize every one skill.
i have tried it get good results.
