Well to become thin you need to eat fewer calories and also burn extra calories through an exercises schedule. Healthy diet and exercise is the best way to reduce excess weight. Do aerobic exercises (walking/cycling/swimming) to burn extra calories and a weight training workout to help tighten and strengthen the muscles. Do brisk walking, cycling or swimming for 30 minutes thrice a week. On alternate days perform weight training exercises. Focus on abdominal crunches, sit ups and also do variations in these. For a detailed exercise schedule consult a fitness trainer. Eat low fat, low calorie diet. Include variety of low fat foods in the diet. Include green leafy veggies, fruits, salads, nuts, low fat milk, and low fat paneer. Avoid oily, fatty, junk and processed foods. Drink plenty of water.
