Actually male sperm cells are released to the female genital tract. After capacitation, the strongest sperm cell migrates through the uterine tube to the ovaries. Then the ovum is fertilised by the sperm cell and than a women conceives, and later impregnates herself. It is not necessary that she ejaculates to get pregnant. Because in fertility clinics, the semen is inserted artificially to the uterine tract and later the women gets pregnant. But the women should be at her fertile stage. That is she has ovulated.
