This is my first question...so pls take it seriously...How much shud we discipline children? Is it alright to slap them occasionally? Can v trade good behaviour  

My dear friend, never slap children till it comes to extreme end, where u have no other option than being violent..
Children are worth to be taught, They are CHILDREN, which means Full of Innocence and Hardly of any brains..

U need to inculcate brains in them by teaching and preaching them the values and disciplines of life and the real way to live life..

If you will slap or be violent in any form with children, you will loose your prestige and your impression would be on a downfall.. Please dont do that, either u will start facing, your child going out of your control.

of course sometime we need to show them that there is someone who is senior and know what you do and that is wrong.....thats why they got punished...not always but atleast sometime we need to be harsh to show them the right path and that is all for their future

yes in my opinion v can trade good behaviour. about corporal punishment, my opinion is that the threat is more effective that the punishment itself. but if you find that you have threatened enuf, n the child does not take you seriously anymore, then once in a while, no matter howmuch it breaks your heart, make good on the threat and let the child feel the smart from the spank. again remind the child on the next instance of the discomfort.. bear in mind that too many times makes the punishment loose its effectiveness.. so pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeease DO NOT GO OVERBOARD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
