The question that comes in my mind is what will happen to the UG in Physics and the course from NIIT. Though you may ignore it, the industry may know that you are indeed a bit whimsical in taking course in your career. MA History is a good academic option, but then tourism and travel industry has its own courses as well. Some of the well known institutes are:

* Indian Institute of Travel and Tourism Management, New Delhi.
* The Ministry of Tourism and Delhi Tourism, New Delhi.
* YWCA, New Delhi.
* Sita Travels, New Delhi and Mumbai.
* Sophia Polytechnic, Bhulabhai Desai Road, Mumbai.
* Trade Wings, Mumbai.

Having written that, one would imagine that getting a foothold in the tourism industry requires a maturity of its own. And in case you already have a career path chosen, a break may also prove risky. Think it over, my friend ... for there is little gain in repenting over a wrong decision.

To be a part of this industry, you need to have a pleasant personality and detailed knowledge concerning traveling and tourist destinations. You need to have good communication and language skills. Business tactics and social etiquettes are requiremed. Lastly, the ability and patience to help and provide hospitality is a must.

Scope in M.A History :

History and political science graduates work in a wide variety of areas including business, law, politics, social service, and education. Many of these students pursue advanced degrees, some in related fields and some in other areas. Many careers do not require a specific major but rather a wide range of demonstrated skills and accomplishments.
