Swapna keep something within reach that you know will make you laugh, even if you're upset. The trick is to change your focus and change your body physically. Don't sit there stewing, get up and go outside, go shopping, go hit some drives at a golf course, limit your caffiene intake as it can cause ups and downs in mood. Lastly, Benjamin Franklin's advice was to always, "Go for a walk", it always seems to clear my head.
