Stridhan is all the articles, ornament, etc given to the bride at the time of marriage by her family or in laws family. In addition any thing given to her after marriage is also catagorised as stridhan.
There is no formal Act to describe stridhan.
To best my knowledge, in case of section 13(1)(a), there should not be requirement of stridhan. It is required in 498A cases as court requires all stridhan to be given in custody of girl as it belongs to her only, before granting bail.
By the way, even otherwise, stridhan is exclusively considered to be property of wife and not the husband.
