In fact very first step of matrimoinal suit happens to be sending both parties to mediation cell for settlement. Only after faliure of settlement court will proceed to hear on suit with other staeps like filing your reply, rejoinder, framing of issues, evidence,..........
Hence don't worry, you will have plenty of time to talk. Even otherwise court is not going to decide anything before at laest two years.
