If you have not taken any dowry and never harassed your wife for dowry, she will never able to prove dowry harassment in court. In criminal case nature of proof required to convict any one is "beyond reasonable doubt". Hence, if you defend properly and actually not done anything wrong there is no need to worry about.

As far as escaping police case is concerned. If any one complaints in police, police has to follow the procedure of law and best defence is to help in completing the procedure.

Just do your part whenever required. Oppose charge sheet in court. Lead your evidence and prove her evidence if any wrong. Finally court will aquit (release from case) you if she fails to prove her case beyond reasonable doubt.

She is your sisters daughter, you are well known her character since her childhood, if she is very egoistical person, why u r accepted to marry her or whether she changed her attitude after marriage. You have not married her on charity sake, as you said with out dowry i have married her. This male ego may be given source of pain to her. she is not your slaver your partner, treat her equally. Discuss with her with a cool mind, exchange your views problems and take a decision for leading a happy life.
Police case punishment, why all these thing, don't allow third person in to your personal/family life,
