Please read my true story to get rid of your sufferings completely:
I was a victim of increased uric acid in the month of August 1999. My uric acid level went up to 7.5 mg and due to this, my great toe of right leg swelled and the pain was unbearable. At one stage, my health was so bad that I feared death and I had to get admitted into the hospital to get emergency help to save my life.
The disease is known as Gout and when the uric acid is uncontrollable in the blood stream, it gives lots of pain and agony to the joints such as great toes, ankles, knees, elbows and other joints of the body. The uric acid crystals take place in empty joints and if left untreated, they damage the kidneys too.
I had visited many doctors for a best cure but they had nothing except for Allopurinol tablets (expels uric acids), Ranitidine (controls acidity) and different kind of pain killers. I was aware of modern medicines that help to keep uric acid under control but I wanted to avoid them since they cause side effects to the body.
After taking modern medicines for few weeks, I stopped trusting these allopathic doctors since the pain kept subsiding and returning back but there was no permanent cure for my sufferings.
Immediately, I kept myself on strict diet by eating only one pulse (known as moong daal in India) without adding oil and spices. I had avoided eating all kind of beans too. As regards vegetables, I used to eat only bitter gourd (karela), okra (bhindi), bottle gourd (lauki) and ridge gourd (turai) fried in fry pan adding few drops of cooking oil, few small pieces of onion, black pepper powder, coriander powder, cumin seeds, turmeric powder and salt to taste. I stopped eating rice completely and used to eat only wheat flour Indian bread (chapatti).
I had stopped consuming milk and yoghurt totally but I used to drink fresh butter milk as and when made at home. All sour fruits, pickles, papad and any thing that is sour in nature were not included in my menu. I used to eat plenty of carrots, radishes and cucumbers for salad. Fruits like banana, watermelon and muskmelon were always in my diet. I used to drink lots of water everyday to keep acidity at bay and to expel uric acid. This lasted for almost nine months and I could reduce my weight drastically.
As a precautionary measure, I took Allopurinol (zyloric/100 mg) and Ranitidine (Aciloc/150 mg) tablets twice a day after meal to avoid complications for few months. Also, I took Diclogem tablet whenever I needed to get rid of the pain. In the beginning of January 2000, I stopped taking modern medicines completely and switched over to the following herbal medicines to avoid side effects:
1. Liv.52 (By Himalaya) – one table twice a day before meal.
2. Guduchi (By Himalaya) – one capsule twice a day after meal.
3. Chandraprabha Vati (By Baidyanath) – one tablet twice a day after meal.
4. Cystone (By Himalaya) – one tablet twice a day after meal.
5. Reosto (By Himalaya) – one tablet twice a day after meal.
6. Singhnaad Guggulu (By Baidyanath) – one tablet twice a day after meal.
7. Herbolax (By Himalaya) – two tablets half an hour before dinner daily to correct constipation.
The pain slowly subsided and I felt better but I used to feel a little pain in my left knee. Due to the uric acid and severe pain, I could not wear shoes for almost one year and remained on slippers only. Since the pain still existed in my right knee, I started taking one tablet of Spirulina (By Baidyanath) daily and within a month, the knee pain also vanished. I took Spirulina for almost three years without fail.
From August 1999 onwards, my smoking and drinking drastically came down to minimal and on 31st December 1999, I completely gave up smoking, drinking and eating non-vegetarian food.
