Its true that Yuvraj singh was a total failure in the recently concluded Sri Lankan tour as he failed even in ODI’s and was not even considered for the Test’s.

Hence his selection for the Test squad is a bit of a shocker and amaze. It seems more of an rivalry now as selectors and Dhoni won’t let Ganguly and like of Dravid ,Laxman come back in squad.

If performance is concern then Ganguly has a better record any day on Test matches comparing Yuvraj. Plus he was in form when we had toured Pakistan, so instead of playing on rivalry selectors should have made sure that best men are picked for the series.

i feel yuvraj has a lot of talent. he has an amazing sense of timing and is a really hard hitting batsmen who can accelerate the scoring at any point in the match irrespective of the field restrictions. I do agree that he is going through a lean period and he is short of confidence because of the increasing amount of pressure to perform on him.
He should take a small break from international cricket, play a few domestic games and get his confisence back and come back with a bang !!!!
There is surely a lot of cricket left in him... he needs to be groomed wisely by theselectors and the board.

Because Yuvraj always plays well against Australian side. His recent smashing hits against Australia in T20 world cup semifinal was splendid. So his good record against Australia and recent T20 form is given most importance rather than Srilankan series, where he was flopped

Yes... I have observed that our selection comitee make lot of mistakes in selecting the team. But at the other hand giving a chance to Yuvraj is also correct. Suppose a player has played 20 innings in all. He played very well in 15 of them & in the recent 5 innings he did not perform well. Is giving him chance incorrect...?

The questions answer is niether possitive nor negative.... nice question. It needs a lot of thinking.

Every Day is not Monday, Yuvraj's recent failure & his acceptance that he was low in confidence should be looked in the same perspective. Many have gone through similar phase, so its better to wait & watch.

the only reason i see behind this is that e is match winner and he is unstoppable on his day may there is no one to fill his soes this is the problem that indian team always face is complency in case of young players they dont take the responsibility and take lot of time to perform consistently
