Well , I think it is a very difficult task with not just Sachin and Sehwag out of the fray but also the most consistent Indian bat Gambhir too going out of contention to injury. But, still as shown in second ODI, it is just difficult not impossible.

If they are able to put themselves as a team and apply temperament with application to their inherent talent which is in my opinion much more than any other team. Then I think they can very well beat Sri-Lanka. Its just a matter of putting themselves there and delivering when it counts.

No india is going to loose this series and from the performance of the 1st match itself it is quite clearly visible that we will be loosing this series very badly!
Shewag was the only player who was in top form and playing without him is just gonna make the situation worst for india.

It is hard for India to win the series if they play horribly like the first ODI. Shewag and Sachin are out of Indian team because of injuries and team has find proper replacements for them and try to give good fight Sri Lanka. But I feel Virat Kohali is not the right person for opening the innings with Gambhir. I feel it is better to ask Dhoni to open the innings. Dhoni anyhow is not playing well at the down the order...India need a good opener who can give good support to Gambhir or else Gambhir will be in pressure and he will get out sooner and India will find themselves in trouble... I feel Sri Lanka will clean sweep the series if Indian batsmen flop...

Thiyaga, It will be a hard task without Shewag for sure.

As we saw in the first ODI without HSewag Gambhir too failed to score a run as a result we went for a bad start and got a very low total to defend, Sri-Lankan bowling attack no dough is very strong but the efforts of batsmen of Indians were poor show down. Not a single guy played through the innings.

Shewag and Sachin surely were missing in the act and it might have been a bit different if they were to be in the side, especially Shewag who is reading the Sri lankan bowlers too well. Hopefully Shewag will return once his ankle injury gets resolved and will start playing again in the remaining matches.

The way our boys played yesterday, we have an uphill task on hand. Thecaptain says that his team misread the pitch. Let him and his team do not misread the other pitches too. there is a proverb in Tamil which says that a faltering dancer will blame the stage for her poor performance. What a captain and what a team! When the Test team failed people started telling that the young Indian team with young Indian model captain will reverse the trend. Will he? Let us wait and see. That man looks more a professional model than a professional cricketer.

Well THIYAGA it is quite early to predict about on going INDIA-SRILANKA ODI SERIES but I think you are quite right that without SACHIN and now SEHWAG it is difficult task for INDIA TO WIN SERIES Ya its BITTER but I think will happen soon. DHONI'S YOUNG BRIGADE already shown their performance and LAID DOWN THEIR WEAPONS AHEAD OF MENDIS AND MURALI. Lack of EXPERIENCE of SACHIN and EXPLOSIVENESS like SEHWAG will certainly reasult in to testing time for MEN IN BLUE. Hope for best but I don't think INDIA will win series.
