We the people are the reason behind media hyping the cricket more than any other sports. As the people in India are only crazy about the game of cricket more than any other sports played in the country.

Other Olympics sports like shooting, boxing and athletic sports came into light with some medals which were won in the recent Beijing Olympics. Or else the hype carried on other sports is very less and of low quality.

More over public are not even aware of our national sport Hockey’s ware bouts and performance or even names of players, which shows how less interested people are in other sports.

Well friend always remember one thing that hot product sales in market and for indian people cricket is the hottest product and media saling it ,they want TRP and business so they only broadcast cricket related issue and cricketer's life so as people will watch their channels,here people worship cricketers as God,so they (media) takes advantages.

Well, being a commercial body the media have to cater to the people's need. If a particular paper or TV channel chooses to ignore cricket, then it is sure to close shop in few days time. When majority of Indians watch & live basically on cricket, how can you expect media to give hype to other sports?
To be honest, how many people really cared about other sports during IPL?

So in cricket there is money, glamour (Cheer girls), entertainment, music, passion and controversies. every thing at the one platform. No other sport has all these colours in it. that is why media favours cricket coverage more

Cricket is the only game in which India as group team won the two times world cup. One in 1983 and second in 2007 (T20 world tournament). So Public has great love with this game and nation. Every body feels proud when these cricketers waves the natioanl flag in the foreign country after victory. Then why media will remain away. Media gives more hype to cricket only because no other sports has written such a great success in the last 30 years like cricket.

Above all media wants performance to show. See Abhinav Bindra has won the gold in olympics, It was the same media which didnot give hype to the test match of India-Srilanka during that day and all the news channels were covering the Abhinav's achievement for the whole 2-3 days

beacause cricket has more exposure and icons that youth follow and want to be and do as they do so there will always be media that surround cricket and cricketers after 1983 world cup people start believing in cricket and its future,and right now we only have good reputation in cricket only

well its b'coz of ppl like us....hum criket ko itna importance dete hai isliy eb baanki sports peeche reh jaate hai.n money is one more factor......even the life after retiring is taken into considertaion.....so all these factors make this game most popular in india....if u want ki baaki games bhi accha kare to paisa chaie hoga......ek baar goverment ko paisa lagaana parega.n oncethe opther games catch up with the rest of the world mone6y will flow in other sports tooooooooooo..........
