I think we developed a taste for cricket with its laid back entertainment potential over a period of five days of test cricket! You can come back to stadium day after day for five days for full masti. Where else you can get that kind of enjoyment? When interest in five day games started wearing off, they introduced ODIs. And we have 20-20 matches which have been such an instant success.

Cricket has been made looked "more interesting", otherwise, as a cricketer, i will say, It's classical popularity is going down, having IPL, Match Fixinig etc... Only because, of Money, Media Attention ( that is also coz, media dnt have other masala to run their channel ) & glemour ( mandira bedi n all..... !! ) .... If we like Mandira Bedi on live match - does not mean cricket has increased its height, If one wannna let all ppl get associted with cricket then, hw many Female Cricketer's name we remembered today ?? How can we place Mandira Bedi in our heart & give lapse to " Shubhangi Kulkarni or Diana Adulji or Shanta Rangaswami ?? .. I diversified the subject little, but, in short, Cricket luckily received many many POSITIVE LIFTERS while other games r found unlucky....

I think the lack of interest in ther sports is due to the lack of funding and lack of marketing of other sports suppose wonder that all media start covering hockey and football matches then sure people will get involved

The Game of cricket requires less investment, less hardwork, less mental strain and more time consumption compared to other games. So we Indians are famous for all the above qualities. That is the reason for the popularity of the game in our country when compared to other games.

indian have much interest in cricket because they all are fond of cricket. As there are many others games played in india too but the interest towards cricket is more so i think they are lacking interest in cricket...........

hi seema. I think its people who makes anything popular or famous. so cricket is there in india even before independence. and now the scenaroi is cricket is mixed with glamour so its the glamorous image of cricketers making it more popular.
