Well Richa, the trio of Sachin, Rahul and Ganguly is realistically speaking impossible to replace as the name and legend that they have created is not just because of their good performance but because of their consistency and test against time. Which every young talent has yet to pass.

But, with the right of passage their mantle to would gonna pass on to juniors. And in my opinion the players in the youngest corp who looks most ready to handle the pressure are:

For Sachin in my opinion the best person would be G. Gambhir. He with his performance and shown that he is capable of playing and performing exceptionally and has natural talent too. But the best thing about him is his willingness to improve, because of which he has changed his game totally, when he came to scene he had talent but his chinks in technique were enormous, but he worked on them and has totally transformed his batting. And above all he had brought consistency to his performance, the biggest forte of Sachin which no other person was emulate like him. If he too maintains it then it would be real find for India.

For Rahul, it would be Rohit SHarma, because of his technique and the way he performs.

While for Ganguly, I think V.Kohli could be the player who could just manage to turn things around.

Many players are in line but I feel Rohit Sharma, Suresh Raina and Yousuf Pathan can take the places of these legends. But I am not sure and it is long period and we cannot say which player will get into team. All the above 3 players are all rounders...

richa, by 2010 other players including Sachin Ganguly and Dravid will require replacement. Like VVS Laxman, A.Kumble and some others. With players like R.Sharma S.Raina coming into form again and performing hopefully they will fill the spots, that is if they perform regularly.

R.Sharma in particular will surely replace them, he seems to have a cool head on his shoulders and looks very composed and calm. He should play well in pressure situations but then if he doesn't then hopes of having a strong player in middle order looks vanishing. Recently he is not playing well as in the ODI's he is not performing that well. He is said to be more of a Test player and can also play well in ODI's as he has varied playing style of moderate and attacking.

He come from the small middle class family, having being trained in Pyyadde sports club in Kandivli, under Dinesh lad's coaching. His coach has promised Rohit is here to stay in international level, so far he has impressed as his knocks of 50's have come in difficult times. He needs to convert it into 100's.

Replacing Experienced players is not an easy task. It will take a long time to decide who is best replacer.
