who must be the most underachieved player in cricket in terms os stats. is it stephen fleming?/////////  

In cricket, I felt Marvin Attapattu of Sri Lanka who with his horrible debut in the international cricket some how played for Sri Lanka very long time. Another player is Ajit Agarkar who was given enough chance in the international cricket but he never became good all-rounder for India. I feel Ajay Sharma is another player who scored number of runs in the domestic cricket but when international arena came he was not impressive. In my opinion Stephan Fleming has good career but unfortunately he took the burden of captaincy at very young age. He use to be very explosive batsman before the captaincy but after taking the charge of captaincy, he became more as defense player and he has to even take additional responsibility of opener as well because New Zealand never found a good opener till to this date. So, many factors are there but his average is pretty ok in my view and Fleming is considered as one of the best captaincy for New Zealand...

SuJaN, most underachieved player according to me is INZAMAM UL HAQ. The way he started his carrer in WORLD CUP 1992 he unable to continue throughout and his carrer ended with fury after WORLD CUP 2007. His stats doesn't indicate his greatness as he called "pakistan ka TENDULKAR".

I think the most under achieved player internationally has to be Shane Bond. Its him because he has the caliber and the attitude of being a match winner, but every time because of his injury he ends up resting every year rather than playing for the country. He has bowled so so well internationally but he has just not got the intermediate or the elite level which he should have by now.

In my opinion he is Mohammed Kaif, once thought to be future skipper of India, could never encash the oppurtunities in international level. Still has tremendous potential, and once he is in form he is always a threat to some other members of Team India (forget about the opponents), in the recent past Kaif and Yuvraj were always threats to some senior players struggling with their form.

We have our own Mohd Kaif, who has got a lot of potential but has achieved very little due to a combination of factors including lack of will to grab the opportunities with both hands.

I think its Suresh Rain from India as he has never shown his great potential till now. It's ASIA CUP 2008 where he has scored his first ODI century and is among top run scorers. He failed miserably during the tenure of Greg Chappel and even Chappel recognized him as great Indian potential.
