In the 1983 world cup which was won by India, saw the highest wicket taker bowler from India. Roger Binny took 18 wickets in that world cup with Roger Binny also won one man of the match award against Australia, where he took 3/23 and scored 46 runs.
This was the third edition of the Prudential world cup.

Some interesting fact.
In the Group B match between India and Zimbabwe at Tunbridge Wells, India were struggling at 17/5. Kapil Dev stepped in and hit a majestic 175 not out, which at that time was the highest individual score in an ODI. Unfortunately this innings was not captured on film because the BBC camera crew staffs were on strike that day.
