It is really hard to say that in ones favor as both have served the game and thier respective countries very honestly and very immensely.

Achieve 12000 odd runs in test match cricket is not as easy task after playing for more than 16 years of cricket for both of them. Lara on the hand has played less matches than Sachin and scored at a faster rate than him but Sachin has played crucial roles in times and has seen through for India and has won more matches for India.

Its just that one has the edge of reaching the top but the other has surpassed him now and is going to race way ahead of him in 1 odd 2 years from now. So as of now Lara makes the choice of just a bit better than Sachin but as Lara has retired now Sachin wil get the number one Icon plus number one player of test match cricket ever.

Lara is the best player of Test Matches. He has better skill than sachin tendulkar. Lara plays cashually in test matches. But sachin is nervous player. Yesterday also he had nervous in his 49 runs. But lara, sehwag hasn't fear in 40's, 90's. When lara hit 400 runs he was stressless. But sachin's highest just 248 runs. Because sachin is not blast player. He is a classical player. Lara is blast and classical player. Even Lara has good confident in Test Matches. Sachin Beats lara's record in Test Matches 35 centuries. But Lara reached 131 test matches. But sachin broke his record in his 151 matches. So Lara is the best test player.

Well Anil, both Lara and Sachin are one of the most accomplished players in cricket history and comparing them would be unfair as both have created their own place in history with unequal performance in not just Test but almost all forms of cricket.

But, if the comparison has to be made then, in my opinion it would be beyond doubt Sachin as in cricket history there are many players who have performed exceptionally well and performed better than other, but none has been able to maintain the kind of consistency like he had maintained in his amazingly long career, that too without any significant drop in performance or form.

This amazing consistency that has remained exclusive to him only makes him my favorite cricketer out of all the rest in contention.

sachin is a great player of the century and sachin & lara both are legend. this is very difficult to say that who is the better player in test matches in both sachin and lara. But I personaly believe that lara is better player to sachin. because lara has played unforgatable innings many times. compare then lara sachin has not played too much great innings. yes! sachin is always better in cricket but in test cricket lara is better then sachin.

Sachin is the better than Lara

Even Shane Warn has rated Sachin at No.1 spot in the list of best 100 batsmen.

Sachin has scored more centuries, half centuries, taken more wickets, having better average than Lara

Well it's a matter of personal opinion. Brain Lara has the maximum -11953 runs where as Sachin has 11877 runs, 77 run ahead of Sachin.

However if we compare the average run rate, Lara had 52.88 where as Sachin had 54.23

The highest Individual score in a test match goes to Lara with 400 runs, where as Sachin’s highest is just 248.

But Sachin had 39 Test Centuries where as Lara had just 34 centuries.

So it's unfortunate to compare the two great legends.

According to Brain Lara, even though I had maximum match winning knocks against my name, Sachin is the best player ever the world had produced.
