Well Richa, in the recently concluded Euro 2008 which were held in Austria and Switzerland. Starting from June 7 and the final took place in Vienna on June 29, 2008, The team that was my favorite was Germany.

Even though this team had traditionally been receptent of bias and even after being such a strong team had been very few people's favorite but still in my opinion it was the best team and not the everybody's favorite Portugal. As, their performance speaks for themselves so is their squad composition which makes them not just people favorite, but also tournament favorite to win in almost all major events it participate.

Buoyed by the presence of charismatic leader in the form of Ballack, players like Miroslav Klose, Lukas Podolski etc. it really knew how to turn the tide, but unfortunately failed at the final frontier and perished in the Finals.

My favorite team was Croatia and the performance of Croatia team was very good until the quarterfinals and even in the quarterfinals the opponent team won the match with the help of penalty shoot out. But Spain was outstanding the tournament but Germany played very poorly in the finals...

richa, my Favorite team in Euro 2008 was France, though they were out in the preliminarily rounds, they played very well and just lost by an margin of error in their matches.

Counting to other teams who lost France was better than them and didn't loose with humiliation or less efforts.

Spain did win the tournament after such a long time that too, but France is a nation which plays good football every year round.

With under the captaincy of Z.Zidaan it were sure winners.
