Paromita, as of now the medals tally is going two ways with China and United States.

China on the hand is ahead in terms of Gold medals with 39 and a total of 67 counting Gold Silver and Bronze. Where as United states is leading in the total number of medals with 72 and 22 Gold medals and rest in silver and bronze.

In the end of the tournament it will be interesting to see who among these two becomes the top, but to think that China is a country and United States is a continent so on that behalf China is leading the front.

I think China will win this years Olympics because they are doing really well and they are far ahead of everybody. The only country that can give them a run for the money is USA but they are also far behind. This time USA is not looking well.Whatever they have achieved is just because of one man rather i would say a shark, Michael Phelps who has one 8 Gold for them.China will win and they will lead in medals tally till the end and they will win.

Dear PUROMITA , I think CHINA will certainly lead in olympics medal tally . Even USA will provide stiff competition but CHINA has upper hand due to their swimmers, gymnastics and athletics . In SYDNEY (2004) CHINA ranked 2nd but I think they will hit target this time.

I feel China will lead in the medals tally because they are almost representing in all the events and Chinese players are playing exceptional well in almost all the competitions. They are not only just participating because they are hosting but they are giving good fight to other countries teams as well...
