Mahendhra Singh Dhoni made his ODI debut on 23rd December 2004 at MA Aziz Stadium, Chittagong against Bangaladesh. But, unfortunately he was run out with the first ball. Indians made 245 for 8 in 50 overs, with Mohamad Kaif scoring 80 runs and Dravid scoring 53 runs. In reply Bangaladesh could score only 234 runs for the loss of eight wickets. Captain Habibul Bashar made 65 and Wicket keeper Masud made an unbeaten 50 runs. Sriram was the most successful bowler with 3 for 43. India won the match by just eleven runs. Dhoni did not take any catch behind the wickets also.
