Well, they have not lost their sting but I think, their carrer is definitely over. Because even though both are still ggreat layer, but like always BCCI has lost its way and made decision like the current one. Now I think
So, even though they can make a comeback. The question is should he.... Looking at the treatment BCCI is shelling out to the seniors, I think it would be better for them to pass the torch on the battle and go for a fresh battle in BCCI administration to clean up the system from within.

Its not over, of course, but it is not looking too promising or hopeful anymore. Their age is not on their side, and also they have been through too many ups and downs (espcially Ganguly). But, still, I think at this age, career stage, and situation, both of them will have a tough time getting out of this mess.
