i have windows xp service pack2 , and 160 GB hard disk. Can i also download and install Linux OS on it. Is there any trouble for me to run both OS. Plz guide me

Yes of course You can install two operating systems in one computer.


It is very simple to get out Windows / Linux in one machine.

Just install the second OS like you had installed the first, only when it asks to format your drive: don't. Just have it install alongside the other OS.

After that, You'll still only be able to use one OS at a time though. The computer will give you a prompt before it boots about which OS to boot.

Or at least it should work that way. I haven't worked with Vista, but I have worked with the dual OS in Windows 94 and Linux, and that's the way it worked.

There is no trouble. Some linux use only 50 mb like Damn Small Linux.

there is no trouble as such but you will have to be careful in
selecting the harddisk's partition.Try to allot half of your HDD to
linux and remaining to XP

lunix operate easily with 512 mb ram and higher so consult this for any hardware experts.before install lunix.
