I use a Sony Eyetoy as a webcam.
I bought it a while back at Argos, for a tenner and the picture quality is brilliant. There are higher resolution webcams available but they cost a lot more.

The best company in webcam for Laptops are Logitech, Creative, Microsoft and many more. But I like only Creative have all the features which I like to use and in my opinion you should also try Creative webcams. Some of the webcams are as follows:
