well, you want a RAM for your system and your system supports the new ddr2 than go for it, i will suggest you only the two companies i.e Kingston and Transcend prefer Kingston the cheap and best.
You will find the ddr2 much less costly than the ddr as it is new technology and being used more now.
But the ddr3 is still very new and introductry so has very high price, i suggest you to stick to ddr2.
