Computer - as the name suggests, a machine which computes.But the question is what it computes?it computes(or manupulate) the instructions given to it.And according to the instructions given to it ,it prints the result.
the simple structure of computer system is
(processor)
input unit--------------->processing unit----------------->output unit
(e.g keyboard) | (e.g Monitor)

Memory unit
(e.g RAM,ROm)
It is called a computer system because here many different parts combine to achieve a common goal, which is to give the output.
