proxy sites(or servers) are something like wearing face on your mask and hiding your face to be seen by others.Similarly you use a proxy site(or server) to hide your identity in the internet.you can access any blocked site with the proxy provided that the proxy site itself is not blocked.some of the proxy sites are "anonymizer.com","samair.ru/proxy". Russian sites are best proxies.if you are using internet explorer then go to Tools>internet options>connections>settings>use the proxy server for this connection(enable it).Below you have to type the proxy IP address and proxy port number.These proxy IP addresses and ports are available in samair.ru/proxy.for eg 192.168.3.100:80 the number before colon(192.168.3.100) is IP address and after the colon(80) is the port number.But be careful as some proxy sites can get your passwords,and other personal information.so better use transparent proxies.

A sort of "middle man" on the internet. Normally when you go to a website, you send your "request" packets straight to the site's server, and then the server sends "reply" packets back which is what you see as the website. With a proxy, you send your request packet to a server, which then sends a new request packet to the website's server, which then sends back a reply to the proxy's server, and the proxy sends the web site to your computer. This can be used for anonymous surfing on the web. Not all proxys are anonymous, though. Some just edit the packet they send to have your IP address instead of the proxy's, then the reply goes straight to you.

Krish In computer networks, a proxy server is a server (a computer system or an application program) which services the requests of its clients by forwarding requests to other servers. A client connects to the proxy server, requesting some service, such as a file, connection, web page, or other resource, available from a different server. The proxy server provides the resource by connecting to the specified server and requesting the service on behalf of the client. A proxy server may optionally alter the client's request or the server's response, and sometimes it may serve the request without contacting the specified server. In this case, it would 'cache' the first request to the remote server, so it could save the information for later, and make everything as fast as possible.
