well nothing is safe on the internet if you are targeted it is much easier on the internet make sure that you are firewalled and protected against virus and trojans!!

Hey Gopal , there is nothing full proof in this techie age, when you start your internet banking of any Bank , you have to take precaution because now days prising may land you in the trouble so ensure before login in the net A/C that transaction is going through https or not if not , my advice is don't login at the moment.

Yes Internet banking is safe but you should not do Internet banking on a shared computer. You should do internet banking from your personal computer and use antivirus/antispyware/firewall to prevent any type of Hacking. You can use McAfee Security Suite or ZoneAlarm Internet Security Suite. These both are best.

It is safe but when you are using it check the following :
1. Do not use any link from E-mail or site. Type the name of your correctly and check whether Internet security lock is closed.
2. In net banking if possible use virtual keyboard for typing the password and most netbanking has this support.
3. Do not allow anybody to see the password or know it.
4. Try not to use shared or public computers and definitely log out after transactions and remove from history.
